Have you ever looked at your marketing and thought, “Why isn’t this working?”
You’ve got the website, the strategy, maybe even the ads running… but people still aren’t converting. If that’s you, I get it. Because in the world of marketing, getting someone’s attention isn’t enough.
You need their trust too.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned after years in UX marketing and product development, it’s this:
Trust isn’t something you tack on at the end. It has to be baked into every interaction your audience has with your brand.
In my interview with Ellie McIntyre on the Conversion Zoo Podcast, I explain how brands can build trust and get more leads from their network.
Mapping The Customer Journey With UX Marketing
When I work with clients, we start way before someone hits “Buy.”
We map the full customer journey—from that first point of awareness all the way through to retention and purchase.
I always ask my clients: what’s the first thing people see when they land on your homepage? Do your colors, fonts, and messaging align across every touchpoint? Are your calls to action actually guiding users, or just sending them in circles?
That’s what UX marketing is really about.
It’s not just design. It’s about reducing friction, creating clarity, and making people feel safe enough to say, “Yes, this is for me.”
Using AI In Your Marketing
Now let’s talk about AI.
It’s the buzzword of the decade, and yes, I use it too. Tools like N8N help streamline the process, but they don’t replace me. They don’t replace you either.
I believe strongly in human-led marketing. AI can help with structure and automation, but when it comes to trust? That’s a human game.
Getting Your Customers To Trust You
Here’s a truth that’s often overlooked: your warmest leads are your most valuable ones.
Yet so many businesses pour their budgets into chasing new prospects while ignoring the people who already know and like them.
You don’t need a massive cold outreach campaign to grow your business; you need to re-engage the right people at the right time.
I’ve helped clients do this with small, intentional shifts: regular check-ins, content updates, even a simple review request from current clients. You’d be surprised how often a new project starts with a single “Hey, how have you been?”
The Power of Visual Branding
Let’s not ignore the power of visual consistency.
It might sound superficial, but when your brand looks and feels aligned—across your website, social, and even your email signature—it reinforces professionalism.
It says, “We know who we are. You can trust us.”
If you’re in a high-stakes field (like military, healthcare, or cybersecurity), or even just a crowded one, your marketing has to do more than sell. It has to show that you understand your audience, respect their time, and deliver what you promise.
That’s how trust is built. And that’s how marketing actually works.
If you’re ready to stop guessing and start guiding, let’s talk!
